Why did we need the McCain torture bill?

Dumbya caught them?! When the Abu Ghraib torture stories leaked out, Dumbya cut loose a few lower-ranked guys who were merely taking orders from above. That's all he did.

And when the so-called McCain anti-torture bill was passed by Congress, Dumbya issued a signing statement that said that as commander-in-chief he could order torture if he felt it was necessary.

Bush-Cheney support torture and perped Abu Graib type situations. They also only punished the little fish in Abu Graib and let all the leaders go because the responsibility was really Rumsfield's.

Bush even threatened a veto if congress tried to eliminate torture. Bush only threatened to veto twice, to defend torture and the corrupt, unsafe Dubai Ports deal, which he slyly pushed through recently under the radar screen.

Why did Cheney support torture? Because if you torture someone you can get them to say anything, including lies about saddam and Al Qaida. Egyptians working for Cheney-Rumsfield made Al Libbi "confess" that Saddam was training Al Qaida, though it was a total lie. He just said it to make them stop torturing him. Dittohead types continue parroting this lie of Al Libbi's.
