one gigawatt hour for 60000 homes a year is ~1.6w if my math is correct (assuming there are 10k hours in a year). really efficient neighborhood i'd say.
in my native language there is a saying which roughly translates to "either you've never been caned or you don't know how to count" i think this is another example.
we are a 2kw household btw.
