Like any other statement.

Where did you get that idea??? The implication is pretty simple; can the environment create conditions leading to more and/or 'directed' (for lack of a better word) mutation, rather than simply random mutation. Whether one would then call that a 'mutation' would also be a question I suppose.

We're keep changing our views on "cause and effect" from the past... the context of which keeps expanding with scientific discoveries.
