We used to hire guys who were big physical specimans, and they had a lot less problems with the punks on the corner.
When I was a little kid in Brooklyn, NY, my parents always taught me that the local beat cops were my best friends if I ever got lost or even scared. As I grew a little older I saw these big Irish cops, with hands like canned goods, take the local punks down an alley and "groom" them to behave.
