In days of yore, kids did what an adult, not necessarily the parent, told them to do. There is a very snooty neighborhood in my old stomping grounds called "Cote De Caza." Fenced community, and the think theirs doesn't stink. And that their kids are much better than others. About 9 years ago, a couple of Coto parents tried to tell several teenage boys to go home on Holloween. The kids not only didn't go, they stomped the two men's butts. I giggled about that for a couple of months.
