Well maybe we have a lot more agreement than I thought. I also think stable money is a good thing.

I don't think that a gold standard is a perfect way to get stable money, or a system like the current federal reserve system can't possibly lead to stable money but I it seems inflation is more likely to be a problem with "fiat currency".

OTOH If "paper legally designated money" is indeed money, than I don't see how you get the whole "US is bankrupt" argument to go anywhere. Not only is the US or the US government not bankrupt in the legal sense of the term, it is also able to keep its debts current.
