As a realtor you must know that housing in most of the country is relatively cheap.

Relative to what? I don't think $223k for a house sounds cheap. If one puts down $23k deposit and takes a 30 year 7% mortgage on the $200k balance, does anyone know what would be the approximate monthly payment?

Yup. Principle and interest would be around $900-1000 per month.

However, remember that the $223K is a median figure........half of all housing in this country go for less than that amount.

Here some houses for sale in classifieds from around the country.
