willcousa, Evidently you were not alive, and kicking, during WW2. The citizens temporarily gave up many freedoms and were happy to do so. In a time of war, any patriotic citizen will cooperate with the government to end the war as quickly as possible. Obviously, you are not a patriot, so what are you as an alternate?

If you fear someone listening to a telephone conversation of yours, then you have something to hide and are not to be trusted.
