I've been lucky. But it also depends on circumstances. When I was in college at Cal, my young cousins were living a few blocks from Golden Gate Park, and the 2 of them, along with their "other brother", used to go to everything musical they could . Used to hear stories about them leaning right (actually, leaning left) up against the stage.
When I was last at his house, he had an album cover from Live Dead hanging on the wall. Autographed by all the living band members.
Sez I, "wazzup wif dat?" Sez he, "Mark gave it to me; see our picture in the big crowd scene?"
Mark is the "other brother"; grew up to be one of Jerry's replacements, and Weir's Rat Dawg guitarist.
But Robin is just as jealous of me for being in the Free Speech Movement.
