Well if we did lose 1,286 Military a year in the 1986-1998 period (references or cites?) mainly to accidents that was based on a 2 million strong military , to date we are losing about 800 a year in Iraq with about 150,000 troops involved, or 7.5% of the earlier force ; so multiply the 800 by around 7 to come up with an adjusted death rate of 5,600 a year or about 4.1 times the earlier rate. We hjave also lost around 400 military contractors and many in Afhganistan- much more justified , but with Junior in charge making a decision to pull many of the best troops out to go to Iraq we are now losing ground big time in afhganistan.

Also the wounds in theis war are just too costly.
