Boy, it's no more palatable when a lefty does it. Some things are just beyond the pale- not many, but this must be one of the few. I think when you live on the edge in comedy or commentary, you're always in danger of venturing in to this territory. There was a bit of that situation in the movie the Aristocrats- where a comic began to bomb because he made some 9/11 jokes and it was just too soon- he recovered by telling the joke the Aristocrats, but it's the same sort of thing- inappropriate humor.
