You are one of the owners of that station, it was CBC -g- ... some say the boom will last till the Olympics but i dunno about that, pretty rate-dependent and yes it is getting crazy in the lower mainland ... we're out of that area but still things are ramping here, i couldn't believe the taxes i just paid on a couple of pieces held longterm, twice what they were five years ago, even though the mil rates went down, the assessment was up by that much

There was a kid who up to about 1994 bought firewood from me in the landing and sold it part-time, he had a fairly low paying job as well ... got divorced about '97, pretty much financially cleaned out then ... didn't get his own house until 2000, by early last year he and his new wife had a dozen pieces of property, and not all single-family, several duplexes and at least one fourplex .... who knows what they've got now, because he had that gleam in his eye while he was telling me this .... he's pretty smart, maybe he'll bail in time when the crunch comes, but my own experience with crunches is that one morning you wake up and there simply are no buyers, none ... still, the crunch is not here yet, r-e, we're in the boonies compared to the Big Smoke so the prices are a lot lower, and the rate of rise always lags too, this may be a reason why action here is more than it was last year, which was pretty wild itself
