Srexley, There are a lot of Native Americans that think very deeply and are very worried about the condition of America which they were forced to become a part of.

I am what is commonly called a "duke's mixture" having blood lines from Irish, Welch, English, French, German, and two tribes of Native Americans which are the Mohawk, and Seneca of the Iriquois federation.

Before the white man came along, the Native Americans were very concious of the importance of keeping the earth as clean, and pristine as possible. They were grateful for their lives and honored their ancestors for giving them that life. Feeling so, they feel the obligation to help the newer generations to have the best possible life that can be achieved. Many white men thought that the Natives were pagans, and worshipped things such as the animals, mountains, rivers, etc., but that was caused be faulty understanding of the Indian languages. They thanked the animals that fed them, and those that helped them, but respected them instead of worshiping them. Almost every tribe that I know of believed in the "Great Spirit" which is God but the transfer from the native tongue to English made it seem to be different. There are even some oral history among some tribes that they were visited by a holy man very unlike them but who preached to them to have peace in their hearts. According to them, this visitation came during the years that Jesus is not mentioned in the Bible.
