I added it to the bottom of the article...of course, finding the source is always a google away :) If you are familiar with Scheuer, then you know that he believes in killing the existing AQ members as effeciently as possible. The difference is that he also advocates thinking about and openly discussing the root causes of it so that they are not replaced by more of the same. [Edit: I believe his stated reason for resigning was so he could share his insights about the underlying roots with the general public. He said that too many politicians are just plain misleading the American public even when they know better]. Incidentally, Scheuer is also the mastermind behind the not-anymore-secret CIA prisons around the globe.
