This is a complex question and I am not a spokesman for AQ or developing nations or America, so I can't answer it. But so long as politicians resort to dumb characterizations like "they hate our freedom" or "they did it because they are evil and not because of anything we did", then we'll get nowhere. It may well be, that after all is said and done, we may decide as a nation that we are not going to change anything in our policy. But that decision should be made on the basis of informed public discussion and not cheap slogans.
