The usual suspects in the office were going on about how funny Ann Coulter is... I offered up Ted Rall for the trash heap if they would throw in Ann... There's two from opposite sides who contribute nothing to the national discourse. As a serious student of the American Civil War, I am distressed to see the parallels between the rhetoric then and the rhetoric now. The language then was intended to villify and demonize the other side, with a goal toward eliminating the perceived threat...look how that turned out. I have no doubt that we are headed down that same path again...its more urgent that we stop this movement than global warming in my opinion. I'm glad Dale has started this isle of sanity and hope it spreads.
