Polls are the will of the people which democracy is based on. Currently, polls show Bushies are the least popular US leaders since right before Nixon resigned. But they deserve to be even less popular. They have literally failed and lied on and about every single major issue.

Did you see the corrupt bastards snuck through the Dubai Ports deal while we weren't watching? So the Arabs (who seem to own Bush) now own 22 US ports and handle the security there. We are talking no Homeland Security whatsoever.

Peter...I think that's all pretty well known.

That's why Bush suddenly brought up the gay marriage amendment again and why he flew over to Iraq for photo OPS.
He was trying to get his poll numbers up in an election year.

It's also the reason why September happens to be the month that they talk about seeing the first substantial troop withdrawals in Iraq. That's exactly the time that they'll need some poll jump before the mid-terms.

But you can't say that polls have NO relevance, cause BOTH parties still pay a LOT of attention to them.
