Thanks, I have read a few commoditiy books but just couldn't remember when they started... I have too much swirling around in my brain lately...

Hope all is well with you these days and you didn't get hit by that rain down in TX...

I'm in beautiful Salt Lake City for a few days this week... One of these days I have to take sometime and really do some sight seeing instead of working...

Futures started trading in the US as a result of ships crossing from Europe with cargo.

A broker in Europe would Sell the Future Delivery of a ship arriving in New York Harbor in whatever, two months time I suppose.

Don't recall when that was (early 1800s?), but in the late 1950s there were only 7 or 9 Contracts in the pits.
