I doubt if Hawkins life support systems use much energy.

Probably during his whole lifetime, Hawkins will use less energy then some hummer driving hick uses on friday night to get those extra couple of sixpacks.

I would rather we learn to limit our use of oil rather then waste it with abandon.

I see no reason why we would want to use the gigatons of methane hydrate to further pollute the world. You sometimes remind me of a small boy in a firework store whose just found a box of matches. -g-

If the world heats up too much, all that hydrate will go off in one big kaboom you know.
