Better, but still falls short. It's not important that the Phelps family is "nuts". It's why they're nuts. Are they nuts because they interferred with Falwell's collection scheme, are they nuts because of their protest at cemeteries; or are they nuts because of the hateful, non-Christian message they preach. The "why" is far more important than the insult.

You need to write him a letter and let him know he needs to explain himself to you. Tell him that you expect to say really nasty things about Phelps. And tell him that saying God loves homosexuals isn't enough. You want him to say God wants homosexuals to marry one another, too. Maybe you should order him to condemn the Bible while he's at it and come out for government funded late stage partial birth abortions.

Falwell speaks out of one side of his mouth when he says God loves homosexuals and speaks out of the other side of his mouth when he speaks of banning gay marriage.

Well, I'm not Falwell, but I can handle this one. When he says God loves homosexuals, he means God loves them because they are human beings just like the rest of us. That doesn't mean that we need to recognize their personal relationships as marriage - that is as we all know a very radical thing that no society in history has done.

We also don't have to recognize polygamy, group or child marriage, bestiality, and other things just because liberal ethicists think they're okay.

It runs along the lines of other "condemnations" I've heard. What the Phelps did was "inappropriate." Bleching in public is inappropriate. Hateful bigoted language deserves something stronger.

I haven't heard anyone describe Phelps actions as only "inappropriate". Are you erecting a strawman there?

I guess you want to insist that only liberals are inclined to expose the nutty things that Robertson and Phelps say.

There you go putting words in my mouth that I wouldn't say. Both Falwell and Robertson have come in for a good deal of criticism from conservatives when they've said nutty things. Robertson is by far the worse of the two.

My compliments to the liberals for exposing the nuts.

Well, you're a liberal and all you've exposed is that Falwell hasn't said nasty enough things about Phelps to satisfy you.

I've never watched Fox long enough to assess whether it's fair and balanced;

But don't let that stop you from forming an opinion just like you do on other things you don't know about.

it doesn't take long to figure out their news coverage is insulting to anyone with more than a 3rd grade education.

Now how would you know that? It is insulting sometimes of course, as I mentioned, they allow stupid liberal commentary like that from Juan William, Mara Larason(sp?), and the Colmes fellow. But that's all a part of being fair and balanced.

Commentary accompanied with loud screaming doesn't do it for me.

I haven't seen any screaming on Fox News. I think thats on another channel.

I understand the Fox gave continued coverage on the missing Holloway girl beyond what othter news media channels did. An important conservative issue no doubt.

Thats a story I paid little attention to. I expect they all paid undue attention to it. If you really wanted to watch stupid tv, you couldn't do better than Nancy Grace during the NO flood.

I see Charles Krauthamer [sp?] on a regular basis on the liberal media. I guess Charles is a liberal.

No, he's not. I see him in my local liberal paper about once a month or so. A shame. I'm pretty sure he writes more often than that.
