After achieving the 7th highest score ever made at the time on the US Army Flying Exams (..after graduating from Commercial Pilot training..) and being 'guaranteed' Fixed-Wing School (..including jets..) after all-types Helicopter Training, I had a motorcycle crash on the way home from the airport prior to my enlistment reporting date. That screwed up my right shoulder, requiring 4+ years of physical therapy after the second surgery to recover 95% use. The Army, unfortunately, wasn't interested in waiting that long.

Subsequently, I finished my engineering degree while participating in AFROTC and then managed to get myself two longterm assignments on the MX Missile development program with Martin-Marietta in Denver. I had already had 4 years of ROTC in high school. Whizzed me off to miss the real action, but that was the best I could do on short notice in an effort to do my part.

I've also gone out of my way to do engineering work for Army, Navy and Air Force Bases, and for the construction of Military hospitals to try to help.

What's your story, punk..?!?

John :-)
