I sent McCain enough money when he was running for president, that you would be surprised at the mail I get.

I wanted Al Gore defeated and I figured McCain could beat him and Bush could not. I didn't know Bush very well at all.

I had never heard of Clinton when he came out for president.

I worked directly under a man who was in the Hanoi Hilton a little bit longer then McCain. Whatever I, you, or anyone else thinks of McCain's politics, he does not suck up.

I will vote for McCain if I have to, but he is some what to the left of me right now.

Please remember that Senator McCain is not a suck up.

"I also think he'd try to find a consensus rather than just try to beat the other side of the aisle down."

Are you describing President Bush, who came to Washington to promote the same "new tone" he had used to work closely with Texas Democrats as governor? Wasn't one of President Bush's first priorities to work with Teddy 'Hic" Kennedy on NCLB?

"I think McCain makes sense when he talks about deficits and campaign finance reform and other things."

His fiscal conservatism is appreciated. His McCain Feingold Media Control of Elections Act is one of the worst laws ever passed. It stomps on basic Constitutional rights horribly. Unfortunately President Bush ceded the adult oversight to the SCOTUS, and they declined to provide it either.

McCain would be preferable to Hillary.
