Well if you put your dollars into a mining company your dollars can multiply faster than the government creates new dollars. Your point is best taken if you assume that someone has all their dollars under a mattress or in a bank at some low single digit interest rate. The finite supply of gold certainly has not preserved stability of it value in the short or medium term. Does the value from 300 years ago matter to anyone now? Dave if this doesnt belong here just say so.
