J. Chris..I agree with you. I wasn't talking about "home grown" terrorism. I was talking about the kind that is exported. But you're exactly right about the importance of developing a strong middle class. The French have discovered the problems involved with creating and isolating an underclass, but they've painted themselves into such a far left corner that they can't even make the minor adjustments needed to correct the situation. Our current administration seems intent on painting the U.S. into such a far RIGHT corner that we also won't be able to make the minor adjustments necessary to avoid a volatile level of income disparity. Two COMPLETELY different systems that could both face the disastrous affects of too much rigidity in their ideologies.
