It is getting to the point where information (culture) outside the genome is having a significant effect on the evolution of life on this planet. It is difficult for many to understand the last few thousand years of increasing complexity if they don't understand the 4 billion years that preceeded it.

And is integral in creating the conditions in which the evolution of information (art, etc) emerge. Like everything else in the universe... they aren't separate.
