Many far rightwingers are secret perverts. The reason is that deep-down there are filled with loathing, not only for liberals, but for themselves and their shameful thoughts. So they purge their self-loathing by projecting it out into the world and onto others. This is why Jimmy Swaggart could spend the night anonymously mongering with chesp whores, then the next day rant and rave against the evils of "harlots" from the pulpit. Because his guilt/rage was really directly toward himself but he couldn't handle that. People like Rush Limbaugh, Anne Coulter, Karl Rove and Bill Bennett are no different. Just big fat hypocrites. As for the Dominican, an American man would go there if he likes forbidden fruit, young brown-skinned ones, boys or girls or both in an anonymous world where you are just "the gringo" and no one asks questions.
