Iraqi sunni insurgents who have indicated a willingness to talk to the govt have asked that them to get assurances from the US that the US would be out of iraq compeletely by June 2008. If this is the quid pro quo for talks to get started i have no problems with the iraqis and the americans accepting this. It is my belief we cant hold their hands forever and that what amounts to a 2 year timetable is fair for all sides. Please keep in mind that these iraqi insurgents would probably be of great help to us in killing off foreign al quaeda fighters. What do you think?
