I agree that threats to 'liberty' can certainly come from all directions. (And, 'life' is certainly a requirement, a predicate, to enjoying any other liberties. :-)

But, I'd argue that no individuals anywhere can pose ANYWHERE NEAR the magnitude of threat to liberties that organized governments can.
