this is being explained as worst storm in fifty years

It looks like it will be worse than Agnes in 72 that flooded central PA. The brick buildings at the fairgrounds in Bloomsburg have markings indicating the high water in 72. I suppose now they'll have the high water marks for 06.

One of my friends informed me the Susquehanna in Bloom is up to Route 11 about a half mile from the riverbank, and over a 20 foot river wall and canal. That is higher than I ever saw in my lifetime. My parents are probably flooded out.

Thanks for the update....Water damage is so very destructive. It is especially sad for the areas of the East...much of our country's early history is there and has been preserved.

It is interesting to me so far out here in Seattle, to view what is happening in the East, and compare what happened in the Gulf Coast. Differences in leadership, or lack of leadership, that is for sure.

I don't recall that any of the flooding was even thought of before the deluge hit....Were any of the early forecasts predicting such a huge amount of rain???

Is Allentown OK? Have some friends there....(did I spell that town right?)

Is there a good link for your area (TV or Newspaper) that is a good one for those of us who are far away?

Stay well and healthy!
