Actually we need to GET OFF OIL, not give up our national parks, marine preserves, white sand beaches, wildlife refuges and wilderness areas. Over time, those natural places are much more valuable than any ability to burn fossil fuels. And we saw in Santa Barbara in the 60's what a single oil spill can do to a precious seacoast.

I was just at a major grocery store which is completely powered by solar panels on the roof. Air-conditioned too. Every building should be doing that. Then we have to replace gasoline as the principle fuel for automobiles. That's the biggie.

Crooked politicians like Pombo, Delay, Stevens and Bush-Cheney themselves are the drill everywhere crowd. And they're not pushing this for the people, for any of us, only for themselves and their corporate lobbyist and CEO pals. They are the oil hogs. They won't pass along the profits or savings to any of us, as has been proven. They are gougers, pollutors, crooks, liars and supvterers of democracy itself.

How is it that the people on these coasts don't want drilling offshore, but these rightwing Big Oil congressmen think they can ram it down the resdients' throat anyway? I thought conservatives were supposed to believe in state's rights, private property and small government? I guess just the opposite under Bush.

What do rightwingers support gas gouging and pollution? Any reason besides blindly following the Saudi and Exxon lobbyists Bush-Cheney-Delay are in bed with? What is conservative about polluting our environment and continuing to be addicted to oil? And remember, it was the Bushies and the Reaganites who killed fuel efficiency standards which would have had us completely off Arab oil by now. That is because these rightwing politicians are controlled by big oil (and other related) lobbyists.
