Like it or not, I believe Murtha is right.

American gullibility has enabled North Korea to profit from its hype regarding its nuclear capability. Unless I am shown evidence to the contrary, I am inclined to believe N. Korea is not as dangerous as it has been made out to be. To be sure, ever maintaining the specter of N. Korea as a dangerous nation is part of the US justification for its war on terror.

Recall that Saddam was not as dangerous as he was cracked up to be and he had to be and was systematrically demonized to justify the invasion of Iraq.

I believe Iran is being demonized more than is necessary. Iran does not have a nuclear bomb, much less the capability to deliver one. Even if Iran has nuclear capability, I believe Iran could easily be overwhelmed by Israel's massive nuclear defensive arsenal.

To me, the US seeks to create fear and blackmail people into submission.

Yeah, once we have decided on the course of pre-emptive military strike it's pretty hard to turn back from that course now.

We didn't find WMD, but stay the course, kill more people. "Shooting people is fun".
