{{YAWN}} You fools were saying the same thing in February 2004, when the US toll reached a low of 20. But all the happy talk ended a month later when the toll hit 50-plus. A year later, Feb 2005, it was 58. This year in Feb, it was 55.

It is silly to think that you can occupy a country and sooner or later, its people will roll over and play dead. Maybe you and your ilk would do it, but most people on this planet won't. And most certainly not in the Arab world.

Btw, Cheney-Rove-Dumbya's toll this month is 59 dead US soldiers, almost twice as much as the figure for June 2003, when that other blithering idiot, Rummy, was blathering about "dead enders".

Three more to Dumbya's account :

30-Jun-2006 1 | US: 1 | UK: 0 | Other: 0
US NAME NOT RELEASED YET Al Anbar Province Hostile - hostile fire
29-Jun-2006 1 | US: 1 | UK: 0 | Other: 0
US NAME NOT RELEASED YET Mosul - Ninawa Hostile - hostile fire
28-Jun-2006 1 | US: 1 | UK: 0 | Other: 0
US Private 1st Class Rex A. Page Al Anbar Province Hostile - hostile fire

-----

Maybe "not enough" for you. But for me, it is 59 too many US soldiers that fell victim to Dumbya this month.

>>Interesting post from Strategy Page. Watching numbers of attacks and numbers of casualties is one of the few ways to get a handle on what is going on in a terror war. That's one reason that the MSM is so remiss in not providing these numbers on a regular basis, which they could do easily.<<

Nadine-

So you think this analysis really says something important?

They've chosen an aribtrary period of time, which they haven't even specified, and made the claim that there has been a 15 to 20% drop in terrorist attacks when comparing that period with the "week or so" before Zarqawi was killed.

It goes on to say that American casualties are down due to the fact that American troops are less exposed now. OK, there's at least one thing to feel good about.

I think it would be far more enlightening to know exactly what period of time they chose, why they think this dip is statistically important when the "spike" following Zarqawi's death wasn't, and most importantly, what are the trends for Iraqi civilian deaths? That might give us all a better idea of how the war is really going.

Your heroes Dumbya, Cheney and Rummy take the US death toll in Iraq to 60 for June 2006 - which is DOUBLE the tool for the month of June 2003, the year they began this stupid invasion of theirs.

But then, to your heroes Dumbya, Cheney and Rummy, a dead US soldier is nothing more than a few sheets of toilet paper. So why would they fret if they spent a roll or two every month?
