I guess I will treat that as a serious question.

No.

The gold market for private investors is a lot smaller than the vast accumulation of paper and electronic entries that constitute the universe of small cap stocks.

It's either a lot of stupid individuals or hedge fund shorts jumping into the small cap stocks (no way to know,as far as I can tell), while smart inflation-fearing people are taking out insurance via gold.

But I may see it that way because of my recent positions in PMPIX, the 150% leveraged gold index fund.
