how to turn the whole business model towards much more boring maintenance? Yes, you don't need a lot of € in R&D, nor too many factories, configuration centers, logistics, quality controllers... Perhaps not even too much local presence via marketing units.

I have been managing networks' buildouts as fast as possible and as cheapest as possible over the last ten years. I am now considering decamping to the operator side moving from the vendor side.

I consider that if someone knows how the operators' networks were built and how they are run, one can find ways to sell fine tuning of those networks. (NOT IN THE RF SENSE!) But to save money.

Could it be possible to renegotiate lease agreements?

How much could be saved to redeploy a site to a cheaper, longer lease site?

How much could be saved if moving from leased lines to microwave?

How much could be saved if a operator owned backbone could be build and not pay leased lines?

All kinds of ideas could be studied by the operators to save money. We have built that so fast that we didn't consider the total cost of ownership.
