Israel has ever been painting a picture of its vulnerability for the sake of persuading (and requiring) the US to help in overcoming its enemies. In this, Israel has ever been hypocritical about its own capability of defending itself. Do you recall how well Israel did against Egypt in the Yom Kipur War? And in the earlier wars against the Arabs? .
