Excellent idea. I can go one better. Member of Congress are all full of hot air. In the winter no legislative branch building will be heated by any means other than hot air. <g>

The entire US federal government should get off oil. That would set a perfect example for the rest of us and also help fund the infrastructure we need. An exemption could be made for national security, though in time they too could follow. Before you scoff, individual cities across the US have already done this successfully. They have to go green in increments, but it's been done, is being done and it works. Yesterday I was in a big grocery store with full air-conditioning which was totally powered by solar shields on the roof. Why aren't they all doing that? Partly because of Dick Cheney's Big Power and Pro-Pollution lobby.
