>>After reading the comments and suspicions about Nokia on this thread<<

Doubt seriously that Nokia has to exert any influence in Finland itself. The "Euro nut socialists" is not a refernece to Europe in general but to the wireless cabal...the big black eye here is that they did block CDMA on the continent. If GSM is so great what are they afraid of.
But remember that the Euro patents courts do get great marks for finding in favor of QCOM in the WCDMA battle. I still have hopes that this same non prejudiced integrity will guide the Euro commission in reviewing the current complaint.

one would have thought that Finland would be....

aaaaah, scratchmyback--- you have to read the parameters, the methods and materials of any study to see if you agree with how it's been done, can't just jump to the conclusions. Way more than half are done with an agenda which becomes transparent on close examination.... Goldman and Meyers , most of the handset/cancer studies, Vioxx....

This CPI list is according to "the degree to which corruption is perceived to exist among public officials and politicians." The organization defines corruption as "the abuse of public office for private gain". Things are on the up and up within the Finns' Land.

It says nothing about the operations of corporations in foreign cultures.
Besides, if Nokia (or Qualcomm) understand that the only way to gain favorable rulings is by pledging to plow profits into an Industrial Park or Research Institute in a target country, knowing that the money will be handled by corrupt people in that country, does that make N (or Q) "corrupt"?
