where does the idea reside In this case we were both famililar with the title of that story prior to this exchange. That means that that information resided within both of us. If you were to post a story that was new to me it would reside first in your mind. As you posted it it would reside both in your mind and in the post you write. Finally when I read it, it would reside in your mind, in the pattern of bits making up the post, and in my mind (as well as the mind of any lurkers to this thread and in the backup servers and in the Department of Home Securities carinivore machine). There would be multiple distinct copies in different formats. Each of those copies would be the result of distinct changes in some set of elementry particles in our universe. TP
