"I take issue with your axiom that ideas exists independant of any mechanism for representing those ideas."

That is not my position. I asked some questions about where the idea is located because you claimed it is 'someplace,' and that it got discovered from that place. I have been asking 'where'. You crawled into a hole.

You seem now to be claiming that it is in the brain only. Or that it moves around. Like storage on paper or something, then to a brain, then someplace else, then to another brain, etc. That is also not my position. Ideas are references to the objects of reference, even an intangible one. The idea is not the object and it is not the brain, it is its own entity but that doesn't necessarily make it independant of brain or object. Infact, I would argue that the idea can not exist at all without brain, object, and awareness. You said it has to be someplace, where is it?

We can look at the idea as a distinct entity. It is like looking at the particle of an electron, that does not render the electron's wave non-existant.
