I'm glad that everything hasn't been discovered yet or there would be nothing for the next generation to discover.

Those are interesting questions, I can only speculate.

What caused the gumball to form? - Perhaps that's what happens when a 'black hole' gets too big?

What caused it to inflate? - The tricky part of this question is that I don't think what we experience as space is necessarily the way things are. It could just be an artifact of the way we think.

What if the Universe springs a leak? - I think that is more or less what black holes are.

Most of the universe is space, so if all the space leaked out we would be in a jam.
