That is a great improvement over some of the baseless bashing that we see a lot of. I appreciate that Pat, even though I disagree with some of the perspective. I also appreciate your willingness to recognize clinton's flaws, as I figure you are not normally inclined to do so. The issues in Iraq are very complex and I wouldn't jump to declare a right or innocent side in much of the conflict. When we get down to individual skirmishes and the effects on individuals it becomes even more difficult. Over all I hope for a better outcome for the Iraqis than they had before the occupation, I hope we don't see deterioration into genocidal civil war, and I hope that Iraq can return to participation in the global affairs as a strong partner to other democratic regions, and with autonomous rule over their own affairs. This has been argued to pieces on all of these threads, all of the Bush related complaints have also to the point where it is no longer informative and frankly we are kind of stuck. I'm still seeing a focus on bush that is simply ... all about Bush, with no real change in the regular participants here. What I am still waiting to see is the promotion of liberal platforms in a positive and civil fashion, as Nancy Pelosi recently declared as the necessary format. Would it be possible to discuss liberal principles and issues and to promote their value and importance in a positive light, without wrangling over the personalities of the politicians involved. I guarantee you that I can stick with the topics and we can ignore posters who still need to bash, blame, and mame... What do you say? If a couple of us can maintain this type of discipline, maybe others will join in with an honorable spirit of rational discourse.
