"they require financing..." Which --- according to US military briefings out of Baghdad --- is flowing to them in "endless" amounts, right across the border with Saudi Arabia. According to Military Intelligence, the insurgents have available to them "endless amounts of financing and resupply" (from their co-religionists among the W'habbist Sunnis there). No 'international banking' transfers are necessary for this at all.... "to obtain mortars and artillery shells" Which --- again according to US military briefings --- Iraq is awash in... with literally hundreds of unguarded or ill-guarded, or totally abandoned weapons dumps all over the damn place....
