Sunni group claims blast Agencies Baghdad: An Iraqi Sunni Muslim group claimed responsibility for a car bomb blast that killed at least 66 people in a Baghdad district on Saturday. At least 114 others were also wounded in the attack at a busy market in Sadr City. Deputy Health Minister Sabah Al Husseini said that "more of the wounded are still on their way to the hospital." In an internet statement, The Supporters of the Sunni People said it was avenging Shiite Muslim killings of Sunnis. The bloodiest attack in three months comes a day after Osama Bin Laden urged Al Qaida supporters to avenge the killing of their leader, Abu Musab Al Zaraqawi in Iraq. "Every day the world sees what rejectionist [Shiite] militia ... do to the Sunni folk in Iraq with blessing and support from the rejectionist government led by [Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri] Al Maliki," the group said. "You have started and here we answer your aggression," said the statement, whose authenticity could not be verified. Police say the car bomb was targeting a police patrol. Both police and civilians died in the mid-morning explosion. The blast also damaged several shops in the district where angry crowds had gathered. Shiite Prime Minister Nuri Al Maliki ordered a security clampdown on Baghdad three weeks ago, the results of which, have been largely unsuccessful.
