First, that last statement is silly. Of course the attacks would stop if you moved Israel. It's fundamentally a territorial dispute.

If by "territorial" you mean that one side says Israel has a right to exist, and the other that Israel has no right to exist, then I agree. Is this what you meant?

<It's fundamentally a territorial dispute.>

It is a fight against generations raised on hate and the moral goodness of death. The existence of an entire state and its people are denied and used to teach children to blow themselves up.

How much money can be given, last I checked no group has been given more, to the Pal's before progress out of the dark ages as a people is required.

< The big problem I see is that neither the Israelis nor the Palestinians want to take any responsibility for all the harm they've done to each other over the decades>

Israel has a thriving society with a representative government. Where is the responsible Palestinian party for the repression of their people ? They manage to blame Israel and the US.... its taught to their children. Hell, its the very foundation of what keeps them in power.

<I find it hard to see how emulating the Israeli strategy is going to work for us, especially considering that the main source of the enmity between Arabs and the U.S. is our continuing support of Israel.>

Is there another model to use when confronted by someone, organized or not, that wants you dead and openly calls for your destruction ?

The only way to end it,IMO, is for an individual or a group take power and make peace with Israel and work together. Do you know of any Arab countries that would not allow that to happen ?
