Saudi Arabia and Egypt deserve and get condemnation for their human rights records, from me and everyone else except our government. Of late, so have WE. In MY country, where I vote and bear some direct responsibility.

You just seek cover for Israel, Nadine. A country who's human rights record we repeatedly ignore, and lend monetary and military support to.

You never answered my questions Nadine. Are you for government control of human populations? Free and easy abortions? Free and easy birth control?

He just said it. How else can you possibly interpret:

We aren't citizens of Egypt or Saudi Arabia. Nor do we expect OUR country to merely match THEIR low standards, based on an entirely different culture and foundation

You can interpret exactly as it is written, which isn't that complex.

He's not Saudi or Egyptian.

He expects the US to do better than what he considers the low standards in those two countries.

Your two conclusions So you don't care about universal human rights. You only care how Americans behave. don't follow from what he wrote at all. He can still care about universal human rights and want the US to do better in that area than those two countries. And he can still care about how non-Americans behave while wanting the US to behave better than those two countries. You're basically putting words in his mouth, so you can then critisize the words, even thought the words are yours, not his.

You've got it wrong because you are trying to tell him what he thinks rather than letting him speak for himself.
