Assuming that is correct, its support for the idea the photos shouldn't have been released.

Though beheadings aren't exactly a new thing for islamists in the mideast. And there's the question of how much truthfulness you should give to a Zarqawi.

If there had been no abuses at abu Ghraib, what would Zarqawi have done with Berg? 'Say go on your way in peace, my brother'?

Here's some history of Islam and beheading. Nick Berg wasn't the first.... This terrible practice has been going on for centuries.
