"What's Haley Barbour of Mississippi saying?"

He has other worries than his house at the moment. Like many Republicans, staying out of jail has become a major concern...

Two of my best friends are from Lake Charles. Why isn't the press making more of a stink about the situation?

CNN and NBC report on the situation regularly.......at least once every two-three weeks. I don't get what's happening there. Like I told CJ, CNN/Anderson Cooper did another special tonite with Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. Tim McGraw goes back to LA and NO regularly every three months to see the progress. He said there's very little happening. Some blame Nagin.......others don't have an explanation or blame Bush. Frankly, I just don't know what the problem is.

In LA, a year after the quake, you saw construction going up everywhere. I think the Santa Monica freeway was up and running within six months after the quake.......and that sucker was torn up in at least three different places......whole sections either collapsed upon themselves or were ruptured badly. In contrast, one year later and they haven't even started working on replacing the freeway that goes over Biloxi Bay.

And the people who should care like the harrises hardly say a word. I am at a lost to understand what's happening to this country but I know its not good.
