"We should never forget about nothing; after all, it is upon the backdrop of nothingness that everything happens"

What do you mean by that? How do you interpret "nothing"?

BTW, I did not leave it out. I was simply illustrating an idea. I believe that nothing is an important concept. I don't think it ncessarily relates to zero, however. Abstract and actual are separate concepts.

Truthfully...I would like to know what nothing is. It seems to exist. It seems to occupy space. Of course the word "nothing" and the conception we have of it means nothing. The apparent contradiction is merely based on ignorance--yours and mine, possibly.

There was a time when gas was nothing except a bunch of demons. NOW, it is molecules racing around for a reason OR NOT. It could be demons--but they would have gas and they would eventually p-ss on the seat...

You are right, though. I have always thought: OK...here is a vacummm. Essentially, it is NOTHING. We have it surrounded so it must occupy space and more importantly..it is still somehow connected and subject to something. So it is conditional.

Apparently then, space is nothing.

And that is totaly meaningless (a separate concept) if the waitress has red hair and a gorgeous body and has excellent judgment...
