Peter, There are probably still some of the inspectors that would judge the efficiency and cost of suppliers for the military in WW2. Once the get an office, they seem to stay there even with nothing to do but play solitaire.

Since there are term limits on the President, the same should apply to every elected official in government. Once the stay inside the loop long enough, they think they own the place.

I can't help to believe that money passes under the table between the suppliers, and the buyers, in military hardware.

Foreign aid began to rebuild the countries devastated by WW 2, but nobody ever thought of ending it when the job was done. Foreign aid is like lending someone a lot of money. In most cases they feel humiliated, and get angry, because they had to beg for money and hate the guts of the one who financed them in any way.Why should we pour more funds down that rat hole?
