The light at the end of the tunnel is an oncoming train, and screaming "Lefty liberal wimps!" for the next six months isn't going to change that. Massive denial going on. I would have agreed with that assessment before the 04 election. But witnessing the ways they navigated a "getting out the base campaign" for that election, I'm wary. However, Marx' quote, something to the effect that the second time history repeats itself it does so as comedy or parody (I forget just which, it's from the 18th Brumaire), is a nice light to shine on the various comedic attempts to keep everyone's eyes off the failures by trying to get them to focus on flag burning, gay marriage, "treasonous" newspapers, and the like.
